NEW DELHI: In October, Lenovo-owned Motorola had released a list of smartphones that will be getting update to the latest version of Google’s Android operating system Nougat by the end of this year. The company has now started rolling out the Android Nougat update for Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones in India.
\nAndroid 7.0 Nougat is claimed to improve the overall experience of the OS. It brings in multitasking features and enhanced notification controls. It also introduces improved data saving and battery conservation features.
\nSome of the productivity-centric features that will arrive on Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus include Quick switching between apps, Multi-window view and Work mode (for users of Android for Work). In terms of performance, Android 7.0 Nougat brings features like Data Saver, Doze on the Go and other stability improvements.
\nThe company is also adding a new Moto action feature with the Nougat update using which the users can swipe to shrink the screen. Along with this, there will also be a new setting to disable and enable locking the screen when it is on and you touch the fingerprint sensor (for Moto G4 Plus).<\/p>\n

In addition, features such as custom quick settings, quick settings bar, improved navigation, suggested settings, lockscreen wallpaper, improved system backup coverage and new emojis also come as a part of the new update.<\/p>\n

Last month, Sony also started rolling out beta builds of Android Nougat to select Xperia X Performance users.
\nThe beta version carries firmware build number 39.2.A.0.248. However, it’s only available for the single SIM variant of Xperia X Performance in selected regions. The update brings new Android 7.0 features like split-screen multitasking, new notification panel and more.
\nThe company has also added some new features like manual shutter speed adjustment and ISO controls at full 23MP resolution. Moreover, the update includes October security patches from Google and the latest ‘Stamina mode’ feature.<\/p>\n
